Trekking in aid of the Jersey Cheshire Homes

24 Islanders including myself recently headed off to trek 80km across the Western Ghats mountain range in the southern state of Kerala in India in aid of the Jersey Cheshire home. We experienced the wettest monsoon season in 50 years, heat and humidity, landslides, flooded tents! Leeches in the jungle and hills so steep they were treacherous to climb up and down. There were a couple of injuries on the way ,But everybody helped each other and when the sun shone on our final day the views at 8,600 feet were spectacular. We all completed the Challenge and helped raise over £75,000.00. The Jersey Cheshire home provides a permanent home for disabled adults.

This year is the homes 30th Anniversary and with all the fund raising that has taken place throughout the year £300,000.00 has been raised. A big Thank you to all those who supported me along the way.
