Humfrey at Jersey Live

Following his successful appearance at the 2014 Battle of Flowers, Humfrey - that loveable Lion from Fort Regent attended this year's Jersey Live.

Humfrey had a great day out at Jersey Live last weekend. After a long break from public engagements Humfrey has given himself a good shake down, combed his mane and is once again set to get involved in community events, rekindling the public appearances many islanders will remember from yesteryear.

Humfrey was delighted to meet those talented boys from Diversity and to share some tips on dance moves as well as meeting and greeting some new fans. He thoroughly enjoyed his day at Jersey Live and looks forward to getting involved in more community events.

Commenting on appearance at Jersey Live, Colin Stanier, Fort Regent's Marketing Manager, said that Humfrey last participated in the Battle of Flowers during the 1990's but appearing at a music festival is breaking new ground.

Notes to fans.

1. Humfrey started his career with Fort Regent in 1981 when he joined the promotions team that supported the attractions at Fort Regent. He was the venues mascot, a promotional ambassador playing a leading role in promoting the venue during the busy tourism season in the 1980's and 1990's, appearing in the Battle of Flowers. Over the year's Humfrey had taken a less prominent role in the promotion of the Fort, but islanders often reminded the Fort's management team of his iconic status and have looked forward to his return.

2. Last year Humfrey the Lion received a makeover by local graphic designers Ben Robertson and Ollie Nightingale (Kartoon Faktory) and he was reintroduced to the public in October at Fort For All Day.

3. Humfrey will also appear at Fort For All Day on Sunday 26th October 2014.
