We’re delighted to share that the resurfacing works at Springfield Stadium are now complete!
Both the 3G pitch and the ball court have been replaced, as they had reached the end of their lifespan. The previous surface was installed over 10 years ago, and synthetic pitches typically last around 8 to 10 years depending on usage.
We’ve also upgraded the floodlights around the pitch to energy-efficient LED units, helping reduce power consumption and environmental impact as well as providing improved visibility for evening and winter training.
Barclay Harvey, Head of Sport, expressed pride in the completed work: “This is a fantastic outcome for the whole community. The new surface and lighting will make a real difference to local clubs, schools, and residents who use the pitches. It’s a safer, more sustainable space we can all be proud of.”
Did you know that, on average, around 1,000 people use the Springfield pitch each week?

A Community Facility
Springfield Stadium, best known as the home of the Jersey Bulls, is also a much-loved community space.
The first to make use of the newly resurfaced pitch were pupils from Springfield School, who held their sports day on the upgraded surface.
Meanwhile, the Jersey Football Association’s Walking Football team were the first to try out the refreshed ball court.
Walking Football is all about staying active, having fun, and making sure the beautiful game remains accessible to everyone. Interested in joining? Find out more
The Jersey Bulls have also returned to the pitch for their first training session on the new surface.
Elsewhere, the stadium seating area is having a mini makeover, with fresh paint being applied to the walls and railings.

To ensure that our pitches stay in the best possible condition for everyone, please make sure that your footwear is clean and in good condition before using the facility as muddy footwear can damage the pitch. We have provided cleaning brushes around the pitch, please use them.
