Become a lifeguard
Embark on a journey to become a qualified pool lifeguard and gain valuable skills leading to exciting employment opportunities.
We are pleased to offer two National Pool Lifeguard Qualification courses in 2024 at Les Quennevais:
- Monday 12th February
- Monday 28th October
Our next course, tutored by Adrian Seymour, will run from Monday 12th February 2024 to Friday 16th February 2024.

National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches LIGHT
The NRASTC LIGHT is a supervision and rescue qualification for teachers working on the poolside or in the water during programmed activities, such as swimming lessons.
Join us for one of our three one-day courses at Les Quennevais:
- Friday 8th March
- Friday 28th June
- Friday 8th November
The cost of the course is £95.

Become a Swimming Assistant
Kickstart your career with our practical entry-level course and build a solid foundation to assist a qualified Swimming Teacher and deliver swimming lessons.
Book your place on our next SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) course, taking place at Les Quennevais Sports Centre.
Course dates:
• Friday 16th February 2024: 9am to 5:30pm
• Saturday 17th February: 8:30am to 4:30pm
• Sunday 18th February: 8:30am to 4:30pm
Cost: £408.50
Attendees must be aged 16 or over.

Become a Swim Instructor
Our SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming Course is endorsed against the CIMSPA Swimming Teacher Standard. This qualification builds on your Level 1 experience and provides the skills needed to become a Level 2 Swimming Teacher.
