Oakfield Sports Centre is used by Highlands College and Hautlieu School during the day.  It can be hired by Clubs & Associations from 6pm to 9pm term-time weekdays and all-day during the weekend and school holidays.

In October 2025, the facility will open to Active members. 

 

Oakfield FAQs

Do I have to be a member to access the Active Gym, Fitness Classes and Racquet sessions at Oakfield?

Yes, these facilities are exclusively available to our loyal members. To access these sessions you will need to have a 12 month advance or Direct Debit membership (including Concessions and Corporates).

What is the minimum age to use the Oakfield Facilities?

Members using the Oakfield Gym, Studio and Racquet Facilities must be aged 18 years or older, unless otherwise stated in the activity information.

What are the opening times for Oakfield?

Sessions will be available:

06:15 to 08:15 and 17:30 to 21:00 Monday to Friday.
07:00 to 17:00 on Saturday and Sundays. 

Do the activity sessions have to be booked in advance?

Yes, there is limited capacity in this facility so all member activities must be booked in advance, including the Gym Sessions. These are available to pre-book on the Active App or by telephoning the Membership Services team on 01534 449888.

Block Bookings are available and must be booked in advance with the Sports Programming Team. You can check availability and arrange a booking by email to Sportsbookings@gov.je or by telephone on 01534 449619

What size is the Gym? 

The Gym has 27 workout stations, including cardio, fixed and free weight equipment. We will offer Gym sessions for a maximum of 14 Members at a time.

How long will the session times be?

Sessions will be set at 1 hour in the Gym and the duration of the classes may vary. 

Do I need to vacate the Gym by the end of my session time?


Subject to availability, you may be able to stay on past the end of your session time, if the following session isn’t full, but this cannot be guaranteed. The Gym can accommodate a maximum of 14 users at any one time. All Active users must finish in the Gym no later than 8:15am and be off site by 8:30am during the school term time. 

Why don’t you have sessions between 08:15 and 17:30 Monday to Friday?

Oakfield is in use by Schools during these hours in term time. It is not likely additional sessions will be made available during school holidays due to other community uses, including but not limited to Holiday Camps.

Why can I not Pay and Play as a non-member?

Oakfield will require you to use a Membership fob for access and is exclusively available to our full paying members so will not be accessible to pay and play customers as there will be no facilities to make payment on site. Pay and Play is only available at Springfield and Les Quennevais Sport Centres.

Will you have group fitness programs at Oakfield?

Yes, we will launch a small program to start with, designed to complement the program delivered at Springfield. We may look to develop this further, subject to demand.

Do you have Accessible Changing Rooms?

Yes, there is an accessible toilet and shower facility for the Gym and Studio users as well as facilities in the new Sports Hall building.

Do you have Lockers?

Yes, lockers for the Gym and Studio are available in the changing rooms and require a 20p piece to use. Lockers in the Sports Hall building require padlocks. 


Is there a café at Oakfield?

No, there will be a vending provision in the Sports Hall building only. Water fountains are available in the changing rooms.

Is Badminton and Pickleball available for Active Members?


Yes, at pre-determined times only to work around the commitments for block bookings. These courts will be available to our Members to hire on an advance booking arrangement only. These are available to pre-book on the Active App or by telephoning the Membership Services team on 01534 449888. Please note we cannot accommodate “On-spec” bookings at Oakfield.

Why can I not access “On-Spec” at Oakfield?

Oakfield will have minimal staff and no Membership Services desk to facilitate pay and play, and or on-spec bookings. All badminton and pickleball sessions will be at predetermined times and available on an advance booking arrangement only.

Is Squash/Racquetball available?

No, we do not have Squash and Racquetball courts at Oakfield. These facilities are only available at Les Quennevais.

Which Sports can be accommodated in the new sports hall at Oakfield?

Netball, Basketball, Indoor Cricket, Volleyball, Pickleball, Badminton and Martial Arts are possible at Oakfield.

Can I play 5-a-Side in the Sports Hall at Oakfield?


No, there will not be facilities for 5-a-side in the hall. 5-a-side can be booked on the 3G pitch, subject to availability. Or at Les Quennevais and Langford Sports Halls.

I run a club, can I block book a regular training slot at Oakfield?

Can I book Oakfield facilities for an Event?

Due to the Sports Hall flooring this space it is not suitable for many event types. Some sport events may be accommodated where these sports are normally facilitated at Oakfield.

What Parking Facilities are available at Oakfield?

There are three car park areas for sports users, some of which are shared with Hautlieu School during term time:

Entering from Wellington Road:

  • Car Park 1 (22 spaces - includes 2 x Disabled)
  • 3 Disabled spaces are also available between car park 1 and 2, between the Sports Hall and Gymnastics Hall.
  • Car Park 2 (67 spaces - includes 2 x Disabled)
  • Car Park 3 (85 spaces – includes 2 x Disabled)
