The Chief Minister announced further easing of the measures
taken to combat the Corona virus Pandemic in Jersey on Friday the
8th August. Since then the Centres have been
working on things we can do to enhance our offering in line with
the guidance.
The updated guidance for Leisure facilities is very much in line
with the guidance for Level 2, requiring Gyms and Activities to
remain within the low to moderate intensity levels for indoor
exercise.
The numbers taking part in each activity session are still
limited and available on a pre-booked arrangement only, in line
with the current guidance, but we are pleased to confirm that from
the 3rd September Fort Regent and Les Quennevais
will be extending their opening times to offer more sessions and
classes to accommodate more members.
Level 1 guidance has indicated changing facilities can be
reopened under strict hygiene guidelines. The measures required to
open these facilities require significant resources the facilities
do not have at this time, therefore we must advise our customers
that the showers will remain closed for now.
At Fort Regent some changing facilities will be open for Active
Gym and group fitness class attendees only. Capacities will be
restricted, so we still encourage customers to come ready for your
workout to get the most from your session in the Gym.
At Les Quennevais limited changing facilities will be available
for school groups, aqua class attendees and disabled customers only
for now and at Springfield the changing rooms remain closed for
general use.
The Active membership fees have been held at 25% of normal rates
since the beginning of July. Our members will be advised this week
that the charges will be increasing from the beginning of September
to 50% of normal rates. This still presents great value for money
for the facilities available and we would like to reassure our
vulnerable customers that still wish to continue their existing
membership freeze that this option is still available to you.
Please see the attached summary of Facilities available at the
three Centres in Level 1.
We are grateful to our members for their loyalty during this
time and we will continue to explore options to add more activity
and variety to our timetables that meet the criteria set out in the
Level 1 guidance. We will keep you posted on any developments and
welcome your suggestions and feedback. At any time you can leave
feedback for us here: https://www.gov.je/government/comments/Pages/index.aspx or
leave your feedback with a member of our team who will record it on
your behalf.
