Whether you're just beginning your fitness journey or aiming to smash your personal bests, our Active gym at Oakfield is fully equipped with a wide range of state-of-the-art machines and equipment to help you succeed.  

If you’ve visited Oakfield gym recently, you may have spotted some of the new equipment that has been installed. These latest additions from Life Fitness and Nautilus have been carefully chosen to support a wide range of fitness goals, offering intuitive, comfortable and effective strength training for all abilities.

 

Strengthen Your Back and Upper Body

This dual-function Life Fitness Axiom Lat Pulldown / Low Row Combo machine allows you to perform two key exercises in one space-saving design, targeting the entire back and rear shoulder muscle groups. Whether you’re building strength, improving posture or supporting everyday movement, this versatile machine is a great addition to your routine.

We’ve also introduced the Life Fitness Axiom Multi-Press, a sleek, triple-function machine that supports chest press, incline press and shoulder press movements. Designed to allow exercise from a natural body position, it’s intuitive and inviting for exercisers of all fitness levels — perfect whether you’re learning the basics or progressing your strength training.

Lower Body Power Made Comfortable

For legs, we’ve added two fantastic pieces of equipment designed to help you build strength safely and effectively.

The Life Fitness Leg Extension / Leg Curl Combo works complementary leg muscle groups, allowing you to focus on both the front and back of your legs in one easy-to-use station. Its thoughtful design makes it accessible and comfortable for everyone, from beginners to seasoned gym-goers.

Alongside this, the Nautilus Plate Loaded Leg Press is a powerful addition for lower body training. Featuring adjustable back support for personalised positioning, alongside safety stops and integrated handles, this machine combines comfort, control and performance — helping you push your limits with confidence.

Core Training with a Natural Feel

No strength routine is complete without core work, and the Life Fitness Abdominal Machine delivers a natural crunch-style movement for maximum abdominal engagement. This machine features intelligent design elements that support comfort, smooth motion and an effective workout experience every time.

Oakfield Gym sessions and fitness classes are for members with a full 12-month membership, Direct Debit membership (including Concessions and Corporates), a 6-month membership or a monthly pass. 

 

To make sure everyone has a great time in our gyms, we ask all our members and visitors to follow these simple rules:

 

  • Dress for Success: Wear comfy clothes and proper shoes. Avoid sandals or flip-flops to stay safe and comfortable during your workout. 
  • Stay Hydrated:Bring your towel and water bottle. Staying hydrated is key, and you can refill your bottle at our stations. 
  • Clean Up After Yourself: Wipe down equipment after use. No one likes using sweaty gear, and it helps keep germs at bay. We provide paper towels and spray for this. 
  • Share the Love: During busy times, be mindful of others waiting to use equipment. Share machines between sets where possible and avoid long breaks, especially on your phone. 
  • Respect Phone Etiquette: If you need to take a call, send a message or check your social feed, step aside to avoid holding up equipment. 
  • Put Things Back: Return weights, dumbbells, mats, and accessories to their spots. This keeps the gym tidy and safe for everyone. 
  • Use Equipment Properly: Know how to use machines and weights correctly to avoid injuries to you or others in the gym, and damage to equipment. If you're unsure, ask our staff for help. 
  • No Food, Please: Keep the gym food-free to maintain a clean environment. 
  • Respect Privacy: No photography or filming in the gym. This ensures everyone feels comfortable and respected. 
  • Use Lockers: Store your coat, bag, etc., in the lockers provided. This keeps the gym floor clear and reduces trip hazards. 
  • Be Kind: Any form of abuse, threats, or violence towards staff or members will not be tolerated and may result in suspension or termination of membership. 
  • Stay Home if Unwell: If you're feeling sick, please rest at home to avoid spreading illness to others.
